I’ve already made Facebook posts, but it somehow didn’t feel right not creating another blog entry incorporating the day in another way and going into more detail. Book Release Day (31st October 2024) ‘Will Worthington and The Black Rainbow’ was officially released worldwide on October 31st, Halloweeeen. It was an event I had dreamt about for […]
Continue ReadingA Glimpse Behind The Golden Curtain: Author Life
Introduction Over the years, I’ve gone through some incredible times with my book. I have cried over an unexpected compliment from the Harry Potter publisher, and been so excited about Golden Egg Academy workshops that I’ve almost forgotten how to breathe, but…. these moments are not for this entry. This purposely dusty entry is to […]
Continue ReadingNext Steps? Will Worthington conquers the world! (You have to dream, right?)
A lot of inspiration for Will originated from the Potter books. There's no magic, but that was a conscious decision on my part, as I feel I couldn't have brought an original twist on magic, so there's inventions and gadgets instead. The villains are key. There's a lot of darkness, and I like to think the humour matches the sparring dialogue between Ron and Hermione!

Introduction: There has been so much positive response to my Will Worthington and The Black Rainbow cover that I decided to write all about the origins for this next entry. Continue ReadingWhat Is Going On With Me? It’s Not Suite
I know. It’s such a stupid title, 🙁 yet, I am feeling a little emotional right now, and I need to do what I love the most in order to feel myself again. Also, please don’t judge my writing on this post. It’s taking me so much restraint not to edit as I go here, […]
Continue ReadingMy Guide for Literary Agent submission by R.E. Brooker
Introduction: Before I begin this blog post, I want to make something clear to everyone: I am not an expert when it comes to literary agents. I am new to this terrifying, exciting (and hopefully life-changing) world; a world that is fraught with overspilling questions, like ‘Who do I send my book to?’ ‘What’s the […]

How do I describe you? You You are many things You’re the beefy-shouldered bully that follows you home, whispering hot and cold threats right outside your door You’re the nosy neighbour who hates your family name the snotty, spotty kid who graffitis over window panes You’re the incessant banging from the dingy basement that you […]

If something isn’t fitting, it’s not meant to be in the book, and trying for hours is not going to make it fit… There is always a reason that it doesn’t – and whether that’s character, plot, or narrative, it will make sense in due course. (E.g. If your characters aren’t acting like themselves temporarily, […]
