Harry Potter, Sherlock, Emmerdale, Peter Pan…. but not as you know them.

Writing

Ever since my secondary school days, I have written fanfiction. For anyone who doesn’t know the term, it’s when you take another author’s characters and make up your own plots.

Despite the enjoyment, writing original stories is often a tough, mental slog. It takes planning, editing, and research. When you’ve had enough of the hard edits, when you’ve exhausted out-staring many blank pages, or when you just feel like taking a break, it’s good to write something where you have a little more leverage (and, a little less perfection needed)….

Fanfiction is there purely to practise writing. It’s entirely for leisure, a gap from trying to publish your own WIP.

Since 2002, I have penned over 50 Harry Potter stories, dabbled in some Sherlock fanfiction, Peter Pan, Emmerdale, Riverdale, and I even wrote a script with the members of the band, Busted.

My home for more than ten years is my account, Snitchsista, where I posted my Harry Potter fanfic: https://harrypotterfanfiction.com/viewuser.php?showuid=65920&sctlab=2 Whilst there, I was named Best Podcaster too, recording other people’s stories and participating in staff chats on Skype, a link to my love of voice-overs.

In my next post, I’m going to show you an example of the fanfiction I have.
